On Saturday, October 4, the WHS Fighting Roo Band competed at the U.S. Bands competition held in Burleson, TX. The band performed their show Drive, and came in third place in the Class 5A rankings.
The Fighting Roo Band, under the direction of James Buckner and Brian Gill, performed well, and were pleased with the growth they have experienced throughout the season.
“It was our best run so far,” senior Stephen Pole said.
The band enjoys getting to compete with other area bands, and they take advantage of the opportunity to see how they measure up against their competitors.
“It helps us compare ourselves to other bands,” senior Logan White said.
The Fighting Roo Band will continue their competition season at the UIL Region contest in Burleson.
