End of Six Weeks moved to February 21st

Due to the bad weather days last week and this week, we will be extending the end of the 4th six weeks to February 21st. This will allow students and teachers to finish any tests and take care of any make up work. We encourage students to use this time wisely to take care of grades. Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

The Weatherford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will provide four scholarships to deserving seniors. Preference is given to students who are planning to attend Weatherford College. The scholarship award will be between $350 - $500 which may be applied to tuition, books, or supplies. Students will need to provide their GPA, class rank, SAT or ACT scores, and a list of their extracurricular activities. Applications are available in the Student Services Center and the application deadline is March 1, 2014.

The University of Texas at San Antonio Scholarships

Seniors, if you plan to attend The University of Texas at San Antonio, you may be eligible for the $2,000 UTSA Alumni Association Scholarship. You will need a 3.0 GPA, one letter of recommendation, be in the top 25 percent of your class, have a minimum SAT score of 900(Reading and Math) or ACT score of 20 and complete the online application. The application deadline is February 15, 2014. Go to alumni.utsa.edu/scholarship for more information about this scholarship.

WESA Scholarship

Seniors, four $350 scholarships will be awarded to Weatherford High School seniors. Preference will be given to WESA member's children. Students will need at least a 3.0 GPA, a copy of the current transcript, two letters of reference, and a completed application. Students may attend a university, college or trade school to be eligible for this scholarship. The applications are available in the Student Services Center and the deadline is March 21, 2014.

Brazos Valley Scottish Rite Club Scholarship

The $1,000 Brazos Valley Scottish Rite Club Scholarship application is available in the Student Services Center and the application deadline is April 1, 2014. Students must attach a recent photograph to their application and include a high school transcript, a copy of their SAT or ACT scores, two personal reference letters, and two academic reference letters. Every application is reviewed for the student’s achievements.

Texas Lyceum Scholarship

Texas Lyceum will be offering four $5,000 scholarships to Texas high school seniors. Students must have a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and have exhibited leadership in school and community activities. In addition to completing the online application, students need to send in a resume, high school transcript, copy of SAT or ACT scores, letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or principal and two typed essays. The essays must not exceed 500 words and the topics are available with the online application. The application deadline is March 7, 2014. Go to www.texaslyceum.org to fill out an application.
