The Optimist International Essay Contest is open to all high school students under age 19. The first place winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship to the college of their choice and the deadline is December 12, 2014. The topic for the 700 – 800 word essay is “Optimism Should Be a Priority”. For more information and an application, come by the Counseling Center on the 2nd floor. Remember, this scholarship is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors and the deadline is approaching soon. Students will need to turn in a copy of their birth certificate or passport with their application to verify their age to Optimist International.
