Technical Dual Credit
Thanks to our partnership with Weatherford College, WHS Career and Technical Education is able to offer Technical Dual Credit for several courses in our department. Technical Dual Credit provides students the opportunity to earn high school credit as well as college credit towards a Weatherford College certificate. Most of these certificates can help students acquire jobs after high school or even while they go to college and have valuable curriculum that may help them in relevant future careers. These credits do not transfer to a university, however they do show up on the college transcript from Weatherford College.

*Tuition assistance may be available to those that qualify.
*Technical Dual Credit courses are weighted GPA
*Technical Dual Credit is NOT guaranteed to transfer to a four-year university
*Cosmetology does incur additional costs for the license and kit in which the student will be able to keep at the conclusion of the program.
** To receive Technical Dual Credit, students must:
-Complete Apply Texas Application (https://prod.goapplytexas.org/)
-Enroll in Weatherford ISD approved course or courses
-Register for the appropriate courses at Weatherford College (contact the WHS CTE Dept. for assistance)
WISD Technical Dual Credit FAQ
Will I learn the same thing as a traditional Weatherford College student?
Yes, courses offered for Technical Dual credit include the same contact hours and rigor as courses taught to other college students, utilizing the curriculum and policies.
What kind of credit will a student get?
A Technical Dual Credit student will receive both Weatherford College Credit and Weatherford ISD high school credit.
Do I have to take the TSI?
No
Who will my Weatherford College professor be for the class?
Our WISD teachers have been credentialed through WC as a Technical Dual Credit instructor and will be your instructor of record for the course.
