WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
I hope you all have had a restful, but fun summer. I am excited about starting the new school year off with your children. This will be my 7th year to teach. I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. My husband and I have a daughter, Allison, who will be 2 in November.
I really enjoy teaching your students not only in the academic setting, but the life skills needed for them to become more independent out in the community. Each student will be working on their individual goals; however, our class will be working on learning to socialize in different settings, as well as personal hygiene, preparing meals for themselves and others, growing plants, and learning to wash, dry, and fold the laundry. It is important that you also help your child at home work on these skills. A great quote I heard at a recent training was, "Give them their opportunity for independence".
My conference is during the following times: Monday-1:18-2:03; Tuesday/Thursday-1:24-2:54
