Important Message for WHS Families
We want to make you aware of the loss of one of our Ninth Grade students. Ryan Segar passed away late Friday night, February 9, 2018, due to an auto accident. Ryan was a wonderful young man who loved his engineering class and enjoyed band. Ryan had many friends and will be deeply missed by our students and staff.
We feel it is important for all parents to know of his death to allow each of you the opportunity to speak with your child(ren) about it in a manner most appropriate to your beliefs before classes resume on Monday.
Our counselors and administrators will be visiting with students on Monday to check on them, talk about the grief process, and allow them time to share their remembrances.
As an added measure of care, we will have counselors available to assist students, staff, and parents with this loss. If you have concerns about your child, please contact us and we will keep an especially close watch on them. Our counselors are here to support and assist you, if needed.

You may be wondering about how to help the Segar family. The family has established a GoFundMe account to help with funeral costs. At this time, the family asks that we respect their privacy. We ask that you keep the family in your thoughts during this difficult time. We will announce service arrangements as they become available.
We count it an honor to lead the Ninth Grade Center and WHS where we place a high premium on relationships with each student. We appreciate your support as we assist our students during this sad time.
Sincerely,
RJ Rodrigue, Associate Principal
