Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Welcome to the WHS Career and Technical Education Department Website!
Connecting high school education to workforce needs and post-secondary education is important to student success in the global community and our CTE Department provides skills and training that help prepare students for their futures. As our highly qualified instructors teach through the lens of their industry focus, our students can reach their aspirations. We offer all 16 Career Clusters which include courses in the following areas:
Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Hospitality and Tourism
Architecture and Construction Human Services
Arts, AV Technology and Communications Information Technology
Business Management and Administration Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security
Education and Training Manufacturing
Finance Marketing
Government and Public Administration Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
Health Science Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics
We provide access to Xelloa program designed to help guide students to careers they might like as well as helping students plan for their future. Students can research careers, colleges and jobs, create resumes, upload awards, service hours and any documents they like creating a portfolio they can access at any time!

Mission Statement: As the faculty and staff of WHS CTE and as promoters of career exploration, we will foster student success, build positive relationships, and encourage student participation as lifelong learners in a positive learning environment.

  1. Foster STAAR success for Career and Technology students.
  2. Increase Student enrollment in Career and Technical Education courses.
  3. Increase the % of students that receive a national/state license or certificate recognized by business standards.
  4. Carl Perkins funds will continue to be utilized within the federal guidelines
