Señora Shearer
¡Bienvenidos al nuevo año de escuela! Estoy muy emocionada enseñarte y presentarte al mundo de español. - Welcome to the new school year! My name is Mrs. Shearer. I am excited to teach you and introduce you to the world of Spanish.
I have been teaching Spanish for 22 years. I am a positive, upbeat teacher with a passion for the Spanish language and a love for students. My hope is to bring the language to life and spark an interest in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Spanish.
My mother and grandmother were born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and my father is from Michigan. I gained a passion for teaching Spanish post College, after traveling to various countries in Central and South America as a missionary.
I went to college at The University of Texas at Austin where I received both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. During my time at UT, I played on the women's varsity soccer team as a full scholarship athlete. I still hold the record for the fastest goal ever scored- 8 seconds!
I am happily married to my amazing husband of 21 years, who is a P.E. teacher at Silver Creek Elementary. We have a beautiful 9 year-old son and daily marvel in the joy of being parents. I am a strong Christian woman and love serving The Lord. I enjoy running and competing in triathlons and CrossFit competitions. I love spending time with my husband and son, cooking, baking, homesteading, and country life.
I am looking forward to a great year at Weatherford High School!
