About Me....

My name is Abigail Weaver, and I have an AA in music from Midland College,
a BA in Vocal Music Performance with a minor in Theatre from Angelo State University and an MEd from Texas Wesleyan University.

I began my teaching career at Midland Christian School, where I met and married Coach Alan Weaver. I then became the Fine Arts Director, Choral, and Band director at Texas Christian Academy in Arlington, TX. I continued teaching music and choir at Ponder ISD, Trinity School in Midland, TX, and Arlington Classics Academy in Arlington, TX. I was the head choral director at Mineral Wells Junior High, where I also assisted the Mineral Wells High School choir. I was at Hall Middle School for five years before coming over to WHS.

My choirs have had consistent UIL Sweepstakes ratings and have received top awards at many contests. I strive to teach the value of superior work, life lessons, and team building. One of my former students is in California as an independent music artist, and another former student lives in Nashville and was one of the opening acts for Kelly Clarkson.

Another former student is in a nationally acclaimed Praise and Worship team that tours and records music. In contrast, others have gone into teaching music or working with their local church as music ministers. Many others have gone into different careers but have continued their love for singing with their church or community.

This past March, I took some members of the Weatherford High School Choir to New York City and made our debut at Carnegie Hall.

I am not only an educator, but I specialize in choral directing, arranging music, vocal coaching, and have sung and led Worship Teams from my church.

My husband Alan and I have two children: Andrew recently graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a Gaming and Animation degree, and Anna is a Junior in College. I love spending time with my family, singing, and shopping for bargains and unsweetened iced tea. In addition, I am the music minister at our church in Willow Park and a breast cancer survivor!

I am a member of TMEA, and TCDA.
I am so excited to be here at Weatherford High School and look forward to continuing to build a tremendous choral program.
