My name is Tiel Jenkins and I am excited to be a part of the Roo Nation teaching Food Science & Introduction to Culinary Arts. In 2010, I earned my Bachelor's of Applied Arts and Science degree from the University of North Texas with a concentration in Human Service and Nonprofit Management. In 2012, I completed my Master's degree in Family Studies from Texas Woman's University.
Along with my education I am bringing workforce experience into the classroom. My love of learning and innate desire to serve others has afforded me the opportunity to work in many diverse career fields. Before becoming a Family and Consumer Science teacher I worked in:
- Healthcare, both clinical and non-clinical ( 10 years)
- Nonprofit Management (8 years)
- Family and Community Services ( 7 years)
My goal is to provide a very engaging classroom environment through hands-on learning that will allow each student to become successful in their educational as well as personal lives.
My motto is : Learn Something New Everyday!
"There are two kinds of worries- those you can do something about and those you can't. Don't spend any time on the latter."
