Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 8:00 - 11:00 pm at the Brown Lupton University Union located on the campus of Texas Christian University.

Congratulations to the Weatherford High DECA program! They were among 525 chapters that achieved THRIVE level recognition this year and will be commended at DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held April 22-25, 2023 in Orlando, FL.

The Weatherford High DECA members who contributed to the THRIVE recognition for the DECA Membership Campaign and Promotional Campaign were Kylie Gannon, Cole Hebbe and Anna Gilbert with the assistance of their advisors, Brandon Nicewonger and Ashley Holder.

Winter Break is right around the corner. Please note the following dates:
- Friday, December 16th is an Early Release Day for all students.
- Schools and offices will be closed from December 19th – January 2nd.
- Students return to school on Thursday, January 5th, 2023.

Enchanted Garden...There is No Place Like Homecoming is the theme selected by the WHS Student Council for the traditional Homecoming Parade. The parade will be held on Thursday, September 22 at 5:30 pm. To enter the parade, please scan the QR code or click on the headline.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) provided waivers to allow all children to eat at school at no cost through the USDA Seamless Summer Option program. Since April 2020, children throughout the United States have been able to eat meals at school at no cost to them.

Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, the USDA no longer has the authority to grant such waiver. As a result, Weatherford ISD’s meal service will resume through the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, operating just as it did prior to the Covid pandemic.

Free and reduced meals will be available to all who apply and qualify. All families are encouraged to apply for this program. Parents may apply at online by visiting Weatherfordisd.schoollunchapp.com or by clicking on this post.

Two Weatherford High School teachers, Staci Tharp and Alan Roemer, have enjoyed a unique opportunity this summer as they have served as AP Readers. The experience gained is invaluable for these teachers, but also for the students they serve.

Dr. Bill Tommaney has been named principal of Weatherford High School. He is replacing Brannon Kidd who has been named the lone finalist for the superintendent position in Mason ISD.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - WHS GRADUATION TIME CHANGE

Graduation prep is well underway at Kangaroo Stadium!

Weatherford ISD administrators have been monitoring the weather forecast for this evening and have been in consultation with a National Weather Service meteorologist. Due to storms that are expected to arrive in our area around 8:00 pm, Weatherford High School’s graduation ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm this evening. Gates to Kangaroo Stadium will open at 5:00 pm.

Thank you for your understanding as we plan for this special event while keeping the safety of our students, families, guests, and staff in mind. We expect the graduation ceremony to conclude prior to the arrival of inclement weather.
