My name is Christi Bartel and I am starting my seventeenth year of teaching at WHS. While I have taught many different science courses, my primary teaching experience has been in forensic science and pathophysiology. This will be my twelfth year to teach forensic science and 4th year to teach pathophysiology. I am very excited to have each and every one of you in class!! I am a Weatherford High School graduate and am proud to be a Roo! After graduating high school I attended the University of Texas at Arlington and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduating from UTA, I went to work as an intensive care nurse at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. While working at Baylor I obtained my certified critical care nurse (CCRN) credential which allowed me to work in all seven of their intensive care units. I also had the opportunity to work part-time as a trauma care coordinator at Parkland Memorial Hospital, which is where I became interested in education. The more time I spent with my patients and their families educating them, the more I realized I wanted to be an educator. Leaving full-time nursing for education was a difficult decision but I have never regretted it. I continue to nurse part-time during summer breaks. I love being a teacher and would not trade it for anything!!
