Spanish 3 PAP

Course Description

Fall Semester 2017 Homework Smores

This 3rd year of Spanish is an intermediate class for students who would like a deeper understanding and ability in the Spanish-speaking world.  Students continue to acquire new vocabulary while continuing to use past information.  During this year, students will review all past grammar and practice using it in practical daily situations, and they will also learn the advanced nuances of Spanish grammar.  By the end of this year, students should be fairly comfortable using Spanish in situations requiring speaking, reading, writing, and listening.  They will have ample opportunity throughout the year to practice and present in informal and formal assessment situations.

In addition, students often acquire some unexpected outcomes by completing this class.  They become better prepared for education after high school by practicing the skills of independently working, sharing ideas in groups, memorizing & applying important data, meeting deadlines and accepting consequences for behavior - both good and bad.  While taking a 3rd & 4th year of Spanish in high school is definitely an asset on high school transcripts when students are applying for college, it also helps develop the whole student.  In class students incorporate concepts learned in other subjects such as English, music, art, speech, debate, culinary, world & US history, etc.
