Welcome to Mrs. Houchin's English Classroom!

Hello! I am excited to be your child's English teacher for the upcoming school year! This is my 18th year at WHS teaching English Language Arts courses. I have experience teaching ELA 1-4 both in the classroom and online as well as coaching cheerleading for two years at WHS. I have a bachelor's degree in English from West Texas A&M University with Secondary Education Certification and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Lamar University. I moved to Weatherford with my husband of 22 years from Amarillo to serve the Weatherford ISD community. I have a passion for helping others and a commitment to challenging students toward their achievement goals in preparation for college, the military, or any career path they choose. My goal is to be an advocate for your child's social, emotional, and academic needs.

In English 4, as in any other rigorous high school course, students sometimes have questions or need assistance with assignments outside of the classroom. I am available during advisory period by appointment for supplemental instruction. * Folder with pockets for handouts and resources
* Blue or Black Ink Pens and Number 2 Pencils
* 1 package of Different Colored Highlighters
