Thursday, November 13 will be the annual Tip-Off Night for the WHS basketball season. The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Gym A.

On Tuesday, November 17, the WHS Counseling Department will be hosting College Financial Aid 101. The event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria, and will focus on preparing seniors and their families for the college application and financial aid process.

On October 22, the American Legion Post 163 met with Weatherford High School administration, to make a charitable donation of school supplies for use throughout the campus.

On Monday, October 27, WHS will begin celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each day throughout the week will include a theme for which the student body is encouraged to dress for.

The Junior World Affairs committee will be hosting speakers Dina Malki and Hazem Yassin as they speak about the Middle East and Islamic Studies on Friday, October 24. The speakers will be presenting in Durant Audiorium during Megalunch, and attending students should head to Durant at the beginning of A block.

On October 18, the Fightin’ Roo Marching Band competed in the UIL Region VII Marching Contest in Burleson, TX. The band received it’s eighth consecutive first division rating.
