RISE/Flyer Programs

Flyer Program:
The Flyer program supports identified at-risk students struggling with social
and/or academic anxiety. The program is housed in a small environment with four
core content teachers sharing classrooms. Flyer teachers build positive
relationships with students which boosts confidence and provides a safe place for
students to experience success and improve upon social skills.
Referral Criteria:
• Identified State at-risk or local committee approved for local at-risk code
• Documented social and emotional needs (counselor)
• Evidence student works well in small environments
 
 
 
RISE Academy:
RISE Academy supports qualifying students by providing a flexible school day. The
student should be 17 years of age in the second semester of their junior year or a
senior. The student must have passed a minimum of 3 of the 5 EOCs and have 15
or more credits. Students meeting the above criteria qualify if they are holding a
job to contribute to their family’s household, parenting their child or pregnant,
caring for a family member or other extenuating circumstances.
Referral Criteria:
• Identified State at-risk or local committee approved for local at-risk code
• Student must be 17 years of age or older
• Documented success on 3 of 5 EOCs
• Documented 15 or more credits
• Documented extenuating circumstance
